The reliability of a plant depends largely on the awareness and knowledge of failure mechanisms among the people who work there. In fact, it can be a decisive factor in the plant\u2019s competitive position.<\/p>

During this 3-day training, we guide inspectors, engineers, maintenance staff, reliability- and improvement engineers, as well as your more skilled welders and workshop technicians with potential to a valuable level of knowledge. After the training, these participants will have sufficient awareness of how installations and their repairs should be handled. This enables them to manage issues effectively and prevent unplanned shutdowns.<\/p>

Potential problems can then be identified more quickly and addressed in time. Critical engineering details are often overlooked by engineers or OEM’s, but they are often responsible for failure mechanisms that arise during operation.<\/p>

This means that with knowledge of failure mechanisms, manufacturing techniques, inspections and repairs, your team will be able to recognise early where problems are likely to occur and take steps to prevent them.<\/p>

After completing the course, your staff will be able to assess material damage such as wear, fractures, and various types of corrosion issues, and determine whether action is needed.<\/p>

They will be able to distinguish meaningful actions from irrelevant ones. They will ask smarter questions to colleagues and during discussions with OEM’s.<\/p>

Understanding the root of a problem leads to more effective problem-solving and ultimately to improved reliability of your installations.

We cover the fundamentals of materials science (metals). How are metals produced? What physical and mechanical properties do different metals have? What is microstructure and how does it influence material performance during use?<\/p>

The training includes various carbon and stainless steels, such as structural, high-strength, high-temperature, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant grades.

One of the leading causes of unplanned shutdowns and production losses is the degradation of components and structures due to corrosion.
This module clearly explains the fundamentals of the different types of corrosion. These fundamentals form the basis for recognising corrosion, designing for corrosion prevention, and modifying systems to reduce corrosion risk.<\/p>

Topics such as Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and corrosion monitoring techniques are also covered and become easier to understand through the supporting theoretical foundation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

There are many possible causes for the failure of a component or installation. Think of different types of fatigue, fractures, wear or corrosion. Determining the failure mechanism is often crucial for improving components or installations.<\/p>

This module explains the step-by-step process of a failure investigation, followed by many practical case examples. The theory covered on days 1 and 2 comes together here.<\/p>

The failure cases discussed can also be supplemented with questions or specific cases submitted by the participants in advance.
